Lithography is the oldest, and original printing process. Lithography is a planographic printmaking process in which a design is drawn onto a flat stone (or prepared metal plate) and affixed by means of a chemical reaction. The Bavarian lime stone is then printed on a lithographic press. You can also create a lithograph on an Aluminium plate and print it on an etching press. Read more on the MOMA website.
